We are promoting anti-poverty week by asking the local schools and community members to fill our pantry up with non-perishables and toiletries.

We will have information and statistics and real stories about poverty on display. We hope to educate our community around poverty and also fill 50 hampers to distribute to the most vulnerable members of our local community. Key speakers will be visiting NT Christian Schools and addressing staff and students at school assemblies about poverty.

People are asked to donate non-perishable food items and clothing to WRC for distribution to of our key partner organisations - the Magdalene Centre and UnitingCare Wesley Port Adelaide. Goods can be dropped off anytime during business hours and will be donated at the end of the week. Little free pantries will be placed in above locations for those who can give to donate non perishable food and other items for those who need to take because of financial hardship.

We will be asking families to encourage their children to do some chores around the house to collect money to buy the toiletries. The Story Bridge will be lit blue and orange to celebrate and raise awareness for Anti-Poverty Week.

Members of the Maitland VIEW Club are trying to stem the growing tide of poverty in Australia by raising awareness for disadvantaged young people during Anti-Poverty Week later this month. For the past 56 years 16, VIEW club members across the country have chipped in more than 50, hours of their time annually to the Smith Family programs. To help the VIEW Club fight poverty in the community become a member. To donate directly to the Smith Family, or to become a sponsor of a disadvantaged child visit thesmithfamily.

The Murray Community rallies together annually for the Murray Community Food Drive during Anti-Poverty week, to support members of the local community who are homeless or under severe financial constraint.

Collection points are based at Shire establishments, schools and local businesses across the Shire. All donated food items are passed over to the Pinjarra Community Kitchen Alliance who operate each Tuesday and coordinate emergency food runs through out the week.

Murray Community Events or Shire of Mur A large amount of food donations were recently received have been sorted and packed by volunteers and will be distributed to a range of rooming houses, to Salvation Army clients and Asylum Seekers.

The Salvation Army Camberwell and SalvoCare Eastern. We invite everyone to buy a can or raid their home pantries and donate a can of food to be given to people who are in financial difficulty. Bendigo Bank will be partnering with us and will be the collection depots. During Anti-Poverty Week Red Cross will be hosting an event called Passport to Anti-Poverty.

This event will require participants to visit various services throughout the ACT during Anti-Poverty Week and have their passport signed. Australian Red Cross in the South East of South Australia are running a Photo Essay Competition to encourage school aged children to capture images depicting poverty within the Limestone Coast.

The aim of the competition is to increase awareness of the poverty that exists within the Limestone Coast and highlight the issues of hardship that are often hidden within our local communities. This year WFTO observes Global Anti-Poverty Week October by promoting the 10 Principles of Fair Trade as means to eradicate poverty as desired by the first goal of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals — NO POVERTY. The children of South Lakes need school stationery supplies. Our hospital will collect stationery from staff that will be distributed by the Ottey Family and Neighbourhood Centre in South Lake.

Throughout September we ask our staff to nominate clients they believe are living below the poverty line. Clients are selected during Anti-Poverty Week and then offered assistance. All funds used are donated from our CEO and Directors. During Anti-Poverty Week help fight poverty and hardship by donating tinned food and other non-perishable items.

The food will be given to the Tin Shed in St Albans, which operates a food drop-in for Brimbank residents. Head to the following venues to help raise awareness for those experiencing food insecurity and support Foodbank Victoria by tipping it forward. Children and teachers can join in by wearing either their school uniform or free dress clothes backwards, and donating a gold coin.

The Wagga Women's Health Centre Facebook page will be focusing on important issues such as: Special posts will be made each morning throughout Anti-Poverty Week to raise awareness and action around these key issues. This APW Youth Action is exploring the connection between Youth Allowance and Poverty. We are asking organisations to join us in launching this video to raise awareness.

KitchenTable Dinners Presented by Vittoria A private dining experience like no other for 40 lucky guests each night. Each night will be different, with different chefs prepared for each night. Every guest booked allows OzHarvest to deliver an extra meals to vulnerable Australians. OzHarvest Events Team P: Located at Brisbane Central Station, the Wall of Kindness is a week long activity which will allow Brisbane workers and commuters to either donate goods to the WMQ Red Bag Campaign or purchase a Red Bag they can fill with goods for a family living below the poverty line.

At the Wall of Kindness -"leave it if you don't need it, take it if you need it". To support the initiative Brimbank City Council has collection boxes located at the Brimbank Community and Civic Centre, Neighbourhood Houses and Community Centres for non perishable food items during Anti-Poverty Week for distribution to food relief service programs within Brimbank.

Further to this, Council is supporting the Melbourne Period Project and is also collecting donations of sanitary products for distribution to women experiencing homelessness. This year, 4 of our shops will be offering everything at half price.

This is to increase awareness of income inequalities, promote affordable living and build positive local communities. A prime factor in first world poverty is oppressive consumer debt. CAP Money ia a FREE course that teaches delegates how to get in control of their money, and a simple easy to follow system that keeps them in control.
