This award has been running for 5 years and is based on reporting on SA Country Shows by rural based journalists and photographers. HIA programs that were cancelled due to adverse weather will not be accepted as qualifying points for this season.

In order to gain qualifying points for the Royal Adelaide Show Competitors need to compete at these rescheduled events or other country shows. As Shows reschedule their HIA events we will share the dates with you on our Facebook page.

The competition is for all SA Country Shows and Associations and is open to any age. Categories and criteria are as follows:. Association Poster Competition — Perpetual Trophy: A3 in size, promoting the Show Association and all shows in the Association not to promote one individual show.

ONLY one poster per Association can be submitted into the competition. That poster is to be selected by the Association committee 2. Individual Show Poster Competition — Perpetual Trophy: A4 in size, promoting an individual show only. All posters will be required to be submitted by 10am on the morning of the SA Country Shows Symposium 10 July, Posters can either be personally delivered to the Rural Services office, or posted beforehand to: Agricultural Societies Council of SA PO Box Goodwood SA The posters will be judged during the day and the winner announced at the SA Country Shows Symposium Dinner on the evening of Friday, 10 July, The winner of each category will receive a perpetual trophy, and a replica trophy to keep.

All posters will be used to decorate the Royal Show stand. Questions regarding the competition can be directed to the Secretary. South Australia has dominated in the Australasian Young Judges Competitions held last week in Queensland. The competitions — run by the Federal Council of Agricultural Societies — involved entrants from all Australian States and New Zealand.

Courtney Ramsey Runner Up: Edward Scott Runner Up: South Australia's Rural Ambassador Lachy Mickan aims to work with the Maitland Show community to bring back some of the Country Show favourites, while enticing more young people to become actively involved in the South Australian Country Shows.

Lachy was named the South Australian Rural Ambassador at the Royal Adelaide Show on Tuesday 11th September. Runner up prizes were awarded to Samantha Newmann Central Association and Michael Siviour Eyre Peninsula Association. The Award is open to print, radio and television journalists under 30 who live in a regional area and work within the media in country South Australia. The SA Country Shows Symposium was held at the Adelaide Showground on Friday 6th July and attended by approximately 60 country show representatives from across the seven South Australian show associations.

The Young Rural Ambassador Award state final was also held during the Symposium which concluded with a celebration dinner attended by close to guests at the Morphettville Junction.
